today my course was empty so i decided to play x2 balls match play against myself. It was driver off tee vs 3 wood off the tee. It was a great comp and the driver won it on the 18th. On the par 3 holes the the driver ball was allowed to use my usual club i would use on that hole, but the 3 wood ball had to use a different club. great fun.

I like that a lot. Great way to keep the interest up when you are out on your own and see different distances In real action.

Thanks for sharing.

What was the result ignoring the par 3 etc.... Was the driver better or the 3 wood? I use what I need to reach a certain distance my driver only gets used 6 times in total.

I managed to half all the par 3 holes. Do driver would still have won. I must admit I had a good day with the driver

I've done something similar to this before, but found the 2nd tee shot was always the better of the 2, regardless of club...

That's what I was wondering about - I suppose the 1st drive acts like a practice shot.
