Masters Betting

Jeev Milkha Singh for me, watched him in the masters at the Belfry last year and loved watching his swing, even if it does seem a little un-orthodox. Nice bloke as well.

Fot that reason the bookies are taking my money and laughing ever since.

A Bluey each way at 130-1 with PP paying the top 6 places.

You do! You know everything about the bloke and its all you went on about round Lydd.

I still reckon Kim will win win it.

Will wait until Wednesday before putting my cash down.

Might have a little e/w on Poults he got to come good sometime this year

Maybe see what Greg Normans odds are for missing the cut too

I don't know if I'm admitting to not being a 'man' in public here. But would someone please explain this whole betting thing.

I really don't get all the terminology (each way, spread bet, etc). Also what the odds actually mean.

I've never been a gambler and I just don't understand it, as it's never been my thing.

I lumped on Casey last week at 45/1 before he won, he's 33's now....

Paddy are offering each-way places down to 6th - the others are all only doing top-5....

Hapless - very quickly

- 16/1 means for every pound you put on you get 16 back plus your initial stake, so £2 @ 16/1 gets you back £34 assuming you man wins obviously..
- Each/way is 2 bets - a win bet and a place bet (place being to come in the top generally 4, 5 or 6 with Paddy in golf). A place bet returns, in general, 1/4 the odds, so £2 each/way @ 16/1 will cost you £4 (as it's 2 bets) if you man wins you get £2 @ 16/1 for the win and £2 at 4/1 for the place plus your stakes back, so you win £44, if ihe comes 2nd or 3rd or 4th or 5th you get the £2 @ 4/1 (quarter the win odds) so you win £8 and get your £2 place bet back - Easy eh??

As for spread betting - you can lose as much as you can win so don't bother!!!!

Really dont know what to do with the Masters, I love a flutter and lost £25 on the national.

I can easily get carried away with it all so might just stick a 2x £5 E/W on someone with odds around the 40's and £10 win on someone else around the same.

Ah, yes. Now it all makes sense!! :D :D

Thanks Sam.

Me and a friend have a joint bettin account, we bet £5 on Casey to win the Shell last week at 35-1 on Betfair and also got him at 60-1 to win The Masters again £5 but as he won last week I very much doubt he will do it again?!

We have gone on Tiger as even at 3-1 it seems good value!! We also have Karlsson and Stenson who both seemed to be in good form last week?

I am so excited for the Masters to start, just want it to start now!!

Stenson looks a decent e/w bet as well as a top european bet.

Ogilvy and big leftie are my top picks, no money on it yet, however I will have my yearly punt on Mike Weir. Putting is the key at Augusta and Weir is amongst the best.

I so DONT have a man-crush on Jeev Milkha Singh, I just like the guys game of golf and his handsome fea...... oops, nearly outed myself there.... I really like his game.

BTW total respect for Jeev playing immediately after the tragic ending to his wifes labour in asia.

Just popped on:

Rory Mcilroy @ 30/1 £5 ew
Henrik Stenson @ 40/1 £5 ew
Paul Casey @ 28/1 £5 ew

Pagraig isnt in form though won be £135 last year @ the US Open.

I really like little Jeev, along with many other golfers he seems the perfect gentleman and i really like his technique.... although i hate his putting technique.

I think its because he was the first pro i ever see close up and personal and he was polite enough to say hello. Wasn't aware he'd had bad news recently.... do u have a link for the story?
