Played a knockabout round on Friday with a mate who has got his putter re-gripped with one of these oversized grips. Had never hada go with one before and towards the end of the round i had a go with it on one of my putts. I preceeded to knock in a 10 foot in without doing my usual putting routine. It felt very different and he explained its reasoning etc etc. Had a couple more go's with it on the practice green afterwards too.

What are other's views on them? I originally seen them as just another clever gimmick from manufacturers trying to get us to part with £££ saying they will save shots etc, especially due to the long putter ban coming into effect. But maybe they might be onto something.

forget the grip issue - just get rid of your 'usual putting regime'

Generally, large grips are intended to isolate any wrist action during a stroke or allow the hands to be aligned in a manner that thinner or 'normal' sized grips do not allow.
if that helps you in making more putts, it isn't a gimmick. Personally, I'm not a fan of them but I wouldn't say I'd ever dismiss them as a marketing ploy. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Went to an ultra slim Super Stroke this year and seems to have helped me with my putting - certainly quietens the wrists a bit

I had a great big fat putter grip put on about 3 weeks ago as I had a tendency to turn the right hand through impact on the short putts and have barely missed one since.

Definitely a Marmite product...
Fragger has one and it has helped him no end - but then he flicked at every putt so it couldn't make things worse.
Personally, I hate the sight and feel of them - we play golf not cricket!

Not sure yet. Tried it when PP's have had them on and they do seem to have some potential. However my Odyssey#9 is pretty stable and my stroke is ok(ish). Trying hard to work on those short 3-5 footers and not feeling the need to change. I think there is merit in it rather than a marketing ploy and think they've been around for many years and it is more of a renaissance rather than brand new product

I always felt my right hand wasn't on the grip properly with a standard grip, and consequently the left hand was overloaded with responsibility through the stroke. With the parallel design of the superstroke the right hand now adds a lot to the stability of the stroke and my stats are definitely improving.

I don't have one, and think they look unsightly, particularly when paired with the uss enterprise at the other end. I've tried a few putters belonging to friends, and it feels so alien, I can't see the point.

However, if I try the 'claw' grip, the large grips make sense. They really work.

But I don't use the claw grip.

I tried a Super Stroke mid slim last year and hated it.

Went back to a regular size grip and struggled.

Just put on a Super Stroke Flatso Mid 1.4 and couldn't miss

Go figure

What do the numbers represent on the Super Stroke Grips ?

Using the fatso 3.0, used to think I had a Flickr stroke, quick practice stroke with a putter fitted with one confirmed this, putting has improved no end since putting one on.

Part of me thinks they should be going the same way as anchored putters. If you can't keep you wrists passive when putting, then practice, but then I guess you could say the same thing about hybrids.

I've only tried one putt with one, didn't like it.

I recently fitted the Odyssey Jumbo grip to my Metal X#6 and it has done wonders for my putting, I always broke my wrists and tended to miss most things left, the new grip has completely cured that and given me a new world of confidence, I think they are great. It did feel very alien at first and I can very much see why they wouldn't be to everyones taste.
