I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Martin Laird on retaining his PGA Tour card for 2009. Despite a couple of hiccups during the season he performed well during the FedEx Cup.May next season bring him more success which might keep some of the critics of young Scots players quiet.

I'll second that!

I've been following his progress all season. Had to hole an 8 foot putt to ensure he retained his card for next season. Lots of bottle!!

Young Scottish player, went to college in the US. Won his PGA tour card, this is his first season. Had a mediocre start came good for the Fed Ex cup, a series of top 5 finishes got him through a few stages of the playoffs, was just outside the top 125, and as mentioned before sunk an 8 foot par putt to get in "on the bubble" as they say.

In a pretty miserable year for Scottish Golf this guy has been a real star, but has been under most people's radar.

Unluckiest golfer in the world, plays out of Dunbar Golf Club 25miles south of Edinburgh.Missed keeping his card by 1 place in 2005 & 2006...and missed out by 1 shot at final qualifying school 1 year aswell.
Back to Qualifying again this year.
