I am aware of a small amount of couples on here that play golf together, so I was wondering how wide spread it is?

Do you play with your wife, husband or partner and if not, have you ever considered introducing them to the game or is it your sanctuary, your place to escape and you'd never consider it?

I'd have to club her to death the first time she hit a bad shot and then laughed - I'm sure that the rules section would find something in the book that forbids this!

I'd love it if Mrs Comma took up the game. She expresses an interest every once in a while but then other hobbies, or usually work, get in the way.

There are a number of older couples at our club who play together and it always looks to me like a wonderful way to spend your retirement. We even have a competition called the Lusty Cup, which is a pairs thing for couples only.

Although for those who see it as their escape, I did play a guy in a match the other day who appears to have the perfect arrangement - his wife plays, but is a member at a different club. That sounds ideal - your spouse understands about the love of the game, is happy with you playing, the two of you get to have that have that friendly relaxed round together, but you also get the freedom from each other.

We both play and it works great - never any complaints about playing golf AGAIN! Then there's holidays - always golf related one way or another. We play plenty of golf in other groups but try and play a round together at least once a week - ooer :o

Great that you still both have the energy ! :o

Yup we both play and will be playing together over the next 3 days although there was a bit of disharmony in the camp this evening as she thought I'd just gone for a game at our club where in fact I was playing for our club at away course 40 mins from home with dinner after wards and she was waiting at home for me to come home so we could have tea!! Opps :o

I'd like it but only if she was 100% into it... which she isn't. She can tolerate it... just.

Her: "I suppose you'll be watching the golf for the next 4 days?"

Me: "Yes I will Dear"

Her: ......"groan"

:whoo:

My partner an I regularly played together until she had a brain hemorrhage, after that she couldn't concentrate or remember how many shots she had taken so she lost interest. It was a shame, but a small price to pay to have her still here.

Not going to happen until maybe old age.

She won't swing a club. Under some persuasion she had a putt the on the matt.

She walked 18 holes once. Bored after 9 and was amazed at how quick I can walk when on a golf course and apparently I shout "get down" more than James Brown.

the missus likes a round of golf but due to the little'un being under a year old she doesnt get the chance to get out with me very often, maybe twice a month on a sunday afternoon. tbf she got the golf bug pretty quickly after asking if she could have a go at the range when i was going once
