Mark Crossfield & the Gorilla in Spain

Sneaky long.....! I'll hit an 8 iron 186 yards down wind (not much of a gorilla if he is using taylormade irons ) these are entertaining videos, good fun.

I did my level 1 coaching with Gorilla James a few years back, and believe me he certainly lives up to his nick name.. I'd even go as far as saying he'd be in the top 10% of forum driving averages :p

I dare say he is long .. But come on it wasn't mega, perhaps he was winding down to control it. But mark was not out classed by that.

The course looks lovely. These videos are good value, the open special was good aswell. It's better when Diamond is with them though.

Theres a golf course lesson from a couple months back when Gorilla James drives 340 yards blind onto the green (pitches on the green). The guy hits long alright!

We played 6 rounds there over three days and the shortest club I hit into the second was a 7 iron which again, was downwind, and needed a big ol' swing. To be on the first there with Driver, 4 iron is also ridonculous.

Really enjoy these vid's and they've done a few others on UK courses which are worth a watch.

Been enjoying a few more of these videos, one thing that is quite interesting is they are smashing wedges 160 yards but they are leaving huge putts! I remember when I was learning the game the pro teaching me (Duncan Lambert) said I should tone it down and hitting 7 irons 180 yards is impressive but control is key. I was 16 then and fit as fiddle, but I wound it back and my accuracy improved. It does seem though that the game is taught in a way that the power is the key element to have, nowadays.

These on-course vids are my guilty pleasure.

I think of the group of them that Kevin Harper is probably the best all-round player.

Nice to see people having a good time but taking their golf seriously.

For those of us who don't get to play with low single figure golfers on a regular basis, it's nice to see how easily they put birds and pars together.
