Has anyone played here recently/member here?

I am planning to play Sunday if the weather is ok. Looks a testing course but an enjoyable one. Just wondered if anyone can give any insight?

Cheers

Drew

Not a bad course drew some thrown in holes but some really nice ones as well . Don't take driver on 2nd hole lay up with a hybrid or 5wood if you hit a good ball aim towards trees on right to open the green up.17th is a cracker iron off the tee then 2nd is 8 or 9 into a small green over the lake watch out not to be blocked out by trees left and right.the long pAr 5 which is 600 yards try to get on top of hill if you go to right your in trees and to left your going over them,it's a massive drop through a hole in the trees to the green. Greens was ok when I played it .

Hi Drew,

I haven't played there for a long time but I was speaking to a member from there yesterday and he told me that the 17th hole has changed temporarily from a par 4 to par 3 and is on a temp green as the old green for the par 4 is being altered.

That's a shame as its the best hole on the course.

Yes, I play there quite regularly, but being a nomad, I haven't played there in a few months.
One of my favourites around here, and was debating whether to play it over the weekend or or a twilight next week some time.
Easy to score well round there, unless you aren't up to your best, then you will be punished!

I'm getting a beating then Sunday.....:smirk:

I played a twilight there a couple of weeks ago , i agree with the other comments the 17th looks stunning but at the moment its a short par 3 to a scabby temp green ,the whole course is really parched at the moment , greens and tees are ok but fairways just look like dead grass . When i played it was my first time and there are a lot of doglegs or crests , with no map on the scorecard or at the tees i didnt have a clue what to do on many holes . I hope you are playing with someone who knows the course , if not a try and get a map. By comparison just up the road at Top meadow the course is really lush and green ,

No, me & bro in law are both 1st timers there.

I will be using the hole 19 app, but it was a toss up between mardyke & burstead. Both of us want to try both courses, but others we play with aren't up for the trip out....
