I'm considering playing in opens at Brookdale or Saddleworth this Saturday (weather permitiing, as always for Greater Manchester).

I've played Saddleworth before and enjoyed it, especially the par 5 that can be hit in one!!! I haven't really heard of Brookdale before, but if you've played both which would you choose? Or can you advise what Brookdale is like. I like to play different and new courses, but also like going back again to good courses, I have played before.

Glad of any advice.

I played Brookdale quite a bit before joining my place, and always enjoyed it, especially the holes on the lower part of the course.

Not played Saddleworth, but the opinion from a bloke at my work is that it is the better of the two.

The amount of rain falling is another factor I would guess - Saddleworth is high, Brookdale low and can quite wet. If it were me, I would go Saddleworth this time, but defo give Brookdale a shot later in the Summer.

Good thinking, I checked out some reviews on ukgolfguide and they also mentioned Brookdale being wet.

If we play, Saddleworth may win out again. As you say, it should drain well, due to its lofty perch.
