Man down.....

Good luck mate and hopefully some light at the end of the tunnel

Good luck mate. Was there a reason for yet another splint

Yes, the thumb is not allowed to move or be knocked whilst the tendons that I cut through have a chance to strengthen and not rupture. This splint has a lot more freedom and due to having to take it off 4 times a day to do exercises and massage cream into the thumb its far more lightweight, comfortable and easier to keep clean.

If I moved the thumb too much or strain it too early the tendons would rupture and they'd have to go back in, open me up and operate again :(

Best of luck Robin, shame as the season is just starting.

Hope it all goes well and your back playing before the middle of summer

Speedy recovery mate!!!! I was hoping you'd be able to join us over at Westwood this year. Don't worry about missing the golf. We only have one weeks decent weather anyhoo....

Back at the hospital this morning, hoping my latest splint is removed completely and its only physio for the next few weeks/month, if so, it could see me starting to visit the club again for some putting and even a bit of chipping!

Fingers crossed..

I see what you did there :)

Hope all goes well at the docs

Seen your twitter feed mate, hopefully you'll be back in the mix sooner rather than later.

I'm now splint free...

I've still got to be careful & not do too much that could stress the tendons but my physio said some putting & chipping is OK, but no divots.

I start resistance physio in 2 weeks, she reckons I might be able to swing some clubs fully in 4-6 weeks if that physio goes OK, so Cooden is still my 1st objective.

Beware the injured golfer :smirk:

Good luck fella

Well I'm not a million miles away now, Putting & Chipping is fine, full swings in the net off a mat with everything up to a 6i feels good also, swung my driver and 4w on the lawn in the back garden and again no real issues, that may change with the impact of a ball though so will give this a go on Sunday in the nets, overall, I'm on target hopefully for a couple of early rounds in July prior to Cooden, hopefully I can get a couple of holes in here and there in the next couple of weeks and see if I feel any resistance to my thumb, fingers crossed :smirk:

God this has been painful, not the actual injury, the not playing for so long :(

It certainly is good news fishy, I hope you hit the ground running mate.

I'm currently on the treatment table after a little operation for at least another week.
