The sun is shining, the course is open and I'm lying in bed with something really nasty!

Was feeling a little achy and tired the last couple of days, a bit of a snivel and a wheezing cough, nothing major but then last night it decided to hit me full-on like juggernaut!

I feel like I've trekked across Dartmoor with 120lb on my back, my throat is ripped raw, 1 minute I'm sweating buckets then I'm shivering.

What ever it is, I don't like it!!

Had to cancel my winter league games over the weekend so I'm feeling Cold Turkey 11 days early :(

Drink plenty of water, warm if you can manage, a large dose of vitamin c, some benylin cold&flu day and night tablets too and then sweat it out of you. Even if you feel warm keep the layers, duvet, electric blanket heating on. Works for me.
Get well soon.

Nasty dose by the sounds of it. Drink plenty of fluids, stay warm and stay away from others where possible to avoid spread. You'll probably start feeling better in the next 24 - 48 hours. If it persists beyond 48 hours contact your G.P or NHS direct for advice. Paracetamol will keep the temp down. Warm drinks such as Ribbena are good for comfort, a little additional vitamins and additional fluids. Vicks or Olbas will help keep airways open.

Put it this way:If you were an extra in Shaun of the dead, Simon Pegg would be looking to lump you with a shovel.

Get a hot toddie down ya soldier
Fragger

I feel your pain, been I bed all day with cold/flu but sky sports has kept me going and the Villa have really put a smile on my face 😊

two fingers of whiskey, good splodge on honey, lemon juice, lemonade, mix heat up in microwave, drink with two paracetamol, works for me everytime

Had that last weekend. Defcom 1 on the man flu scale despite having the flu jab. In truth I had a cold a few weeks back and it never really got out the system. Back to fitness now so ready to play and enjoy Christmas

Try the Drive4show cold/flu remedy......a stinking hot vindaloo.

You'll either sweat it out or dispose of it down the pan via your bottom.

Works every time

Thank god it's late that picture would have given my girls nightmares!
I've had something similar and hit it hard with hot lemon and honey all day with lockets for my throat, paracetamol for the temperature, otravine for my bunged up nose and strong hot toddies in the evening to get me off to sleep. Got it Saturday evening, crap at work in Sunday morning, rough as a dog on Monday then went out in the cold Tuesday to either kill it or me. Seems to have worked as I've got steadily better since then.
Cental heating is the best mate of the cold and flu virus!

cant be that bad, your on here posting! the real mutha has you not moving, staying out the light (incl screens and tv) not eating or drinking, head pounding and taking paracetomol full strength every 4 hrs, and it lasts about 7 days!

Best thing to do is wear too much clothing, get in a sleeping bag, get under a nice thick duvet, drink a load of night nurse and sleep it off and sweat it out.
You'll need a shower in the morning though!

Slime.
