Hi all.....
Hope your all enjoying the golf.......
Just wondering what would you consider a Major swing change....And what would you consider Minor.....

I hadnt a great round today....I took the advice of some on here in a post last week and just went out and hit the ball around the course........No thoughts, and no mechanics......Just swing what ya Bring so to speak .....

Anyway i shot a gross 90 off 12...A nett 78.....Usually im P***ed with a score like this but i wasnt swinging well and struggled off the tee....
The positives were that i was hitting irons well and i was putting well......Driver was asleep as well as my trusty 3 Wood......But i came off the course in good humour....Another positive....

Anyway enough of that....

What is considered a Major swing change and how long should it take to see solid results.....

I started work in December 2010 from swinging too flat and my club exiting at 1.00 o'clock to something steeper and exiting left after impact. Taken 18 months but finally in a good place and hitting it better in 2013 than 2012 and getting better. A short game and I can be good. Hitting down better and compressing so distance and control coming

Homer...When you say you were exiting at 1 no clock.... Did that mean you were trying to swing in to out and feel like you were throwing the club out after the ball .....

This is what my Pro has been doing with me..... I am very much a one planer and i just find it very weird trying to do this when every part of me wants to go left like your new swing.....
My trouble is a swing path issue.... I was very out to in....But he's trying to get me swinging in to out at the ball.....
Very bloody frustrating though...... I can literally draw every iron at the range..... Cant draw my woods...... Out on the course i seem to either hit my irons straightish or off a tee might draw everything from a 6 down to a wedge....And im push fading the longer stuff.

I personally define them by how long they take to 'bed in'.

Something like:

Standing closer/further away from the ball
Correcting ball position
Stance width

Things like that I would class as minor as they take very little time to adapt to.

Things like:
Swing plane change
Grip changes
Any mechanical changes to the swing.

These I consider major changes as they take longer to adjust to.

Just my take. Other people may have different lists, but that's what I consider anyways :D
