I see there are two days of celebration under way to commemorate Magna Carta and I for one am glad she didn't die in vain.

A brave Hungarian peasant girl who forced King John to sign the pledge at Runnymede and close the boozers at half ten should never be forgotten.

She and her kind are what has made Britain truly great.

And now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the Blood Transfusion Centre to do my own little bit.

A pint.. that's an armful!

I thought the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta was bein passed by, so I am glad too see there are celebrations planned, and for someone who lives in the north, I can sit smugly and smile at the poor southerners having to endure the road closures.
