So I'll confess I'm the biggest gear changer on here, but the constant claims from reviews and fittings is just getting beyond a joke.
While no doubt today's clubs are more forgiving they are not any longer.
Example being we fitted so and so for x set of irons, his old one went 150 we added 10 yards to that, no wonder its 5 degrees stronger and a whole inch longer.
At first it was Taylormade, then along came Callaway now they are all at it.
I wish they would just stamp the loft on clubs and stop these silly claims.

I think I might have some popcorn left over from the last debate about this - I'm sure Delc won't be long

I think much of one online reviewer says is so true, in as much as the specs that clubs have to be built to is so strict, there is little to chose between one club with a 32 Deg loft and another in terms of distance with my swing speed. What I have noticed is that:

1) You have to do you homework before a fitting is one 6i or 7i the same loft as another.
2) Then are the shaft lengths the same
3) And recently manufactures seem to be changing the CG to change the Spin Rates, as I saw a review recently where the LM showed a 7i was spinning at around 5000 RPM, I have always thought it should be around 1000 RPM per Club i.e. 7i 7000, 6i 6000 etc, so if the COG is such that 7i spins at 5000 RPM then it might be longer but will it hold a green like we expect, i don't know any more

I now just buy the pretty ones that I can hit well.

Rumour has it that Delc is going to do a review on putters that hit the ball over 300yds, and will knock it in small holes!
With a traditional putting grip I assume ?

Find a set of clubs u like get fitted for them with shaft/lie/grip etc then practice & work out what distance YOU hit each of them clubs & play YOUR game based around that ..Distance is helpful but means nothing , what ya sign for after 18 is all that matters , if you hit ur 6 iron 180 or 140 so long as you can hit it in the general area your aiming , fill your boots

Having worked in the car business all my life I gotten some insight into some car reviews & reviewers , id buy a car I like the look of & can afford then drive it how I want & not care what MPG/ top speed etc others are getting from their similar cars ..
