Flipping 'eck it was cold on the course today - proper biting wind and ice cream headache at times.

Great to be out though and really enjoyed the challenge. Played at Overstone with my brother who is a member there and a long course into the wind for sure.

Face now resembles :o and have my own little central heating system !!

Anyone else play today?

I was meant to play last Saturday. Friday was a great day (for the time of year) but snow covering everything on Saturday morning so golf off.

It's blowing a hoolie today - pretty hardcore to try golfing in that!

Playing tomorrow in a society day at Beaconsfield

Absolutely throwing it down at the mo, but the forecast for tomorrow looks pretty good

Looks all downhill after that, so Fridays round looks soggy and cold

Fragger

Played qualifier in a 4-club wind and ruddy cold - had 32 points after 15, messed up next 2 holes, finished on 35 which was best score of the day (CSS was 35 points so in buffer :)). Usually play better in the wind - Scottish upbringing.

Managed to get through 9 yesterday and that was enough tbh, 18 in todays conditions must have been pretty hard work. How does Overstone hold up through winter?

Nice score Rosecott

Looking at the fcast not convinced Ill get out again before xmas, gives me some time to go and hit balls as havent practised for a long while now!

Ditto the good score comment Rosecott. I had a lovely run of pars interrupted by a few double bogeys on both the front and back 9 ! I find it hard to keep those off the card in windy conditions...finished with a par on the 18th though so as ever that will keep me coming back for more :fore:

Overstone is playing quite well - bit muddy in places and the fairway grass a bit too short/sparse for my liking but then at Wyboston it's a bit woolly - never happy eh?! It will be my brothers first winter there so will be interesting to see how it fares but only 1 temporary green being "prepared" that I could see.

This is my 3rd winter playing golf. Year 1 I wouldn't venture out below 4 degrees, year 2 I had no limit and played in sub zero and year 3 will probably be much the same !

Sorry it's all my fault!

I planned My enforced break in the hope that I would get my group stage of the winter league played, have my op, and return as group champions to the knockout phase at the end of January. It all relied on good weather up to DEc 7th so that no group games were cancelled and plan A worked perfectly! I saved all the bad weather till later

I won't win any friends on here but I could pick up a trophy !

Weather was horrific here today.
In the space of 2 hours we had a dose of everything!
Sun, rain, hail, snow, sleet, gales and even a Thunder clap...!!

Going to try to get out Thursday am and then again Friday but its going to be a tad breezy again..

Anyone out at AP today would have drowned!

Don't people on her have jobs to do? No wonder the economy is in a mess :ears:

I wont be doing much till the good weather returns. Got to look after my neck. Can hardly move it in the cold as it is. Will try for a bit of practise to keep my eye in. But thats about it.
