I had a bash with a friends recently and was quite impressed. Although I couldn’t compare it directly at the time with my current 3W, which is a trusty workhorse (having no driver), it did appear perhaps longer but not sure it warrants a change on distance alone. I do like the head shape, which is a little bigger front to back than the Bertha.

So, for those using the M2 fairway wood, do the distance claims live up to the hype? Have you seen noticeable distance improvements and/or other benefits? Off centre hits not too punishing?

Thanks

Had a play last week with the M2 and Ping G 3 woods, M2 was no better or worse for distance, but the G had a way better, tighter dispersion, may not be what you wanted to hear, but maybe worth having a try before committing

Only moved to one after snapping my G30. They are bloody long. Shafts are not longer, infact the 5 wood shaft is shorter than the G30.
Not sure if I like it ATM. Good hits are epic, but it has a wide Miss like no other fairway I've tried.

All I can say is that it still surprises me how fast the ball comes off the club face and how far it goes. I was faced with a shot last weekend. 214 yds into a 2 club wind. There was a steep dip before the green so anything short would just roll back down away from the green. Waiting for the group in front I convinced myself I couldn't reach, in truth, in the past I couldn't reach, ever. I decided to lay up, didn't commit and shanked it OB. With no other option, I took a drop, pulled the 3W and smashed it straight into the middle of the green, all carry. It works for me.

In addition, both the driver and 3W are super forgiving. I doubt you will be dissapointed.

A few extra yards on the Adams that it replaced however the main reason for my change that it was just so easy to hit. Even shots out of the bottom still go a good way, for me the solid sound and feel seem to convince my subconscious that I don't need to lash at it which leads to a smoother, better swing and good results. Very impressed so far

Exactly the same for me as well after trying the M2 and Ping G last week, i think the M2 was 2 yards longer on average on centered hits, but the dispersion with the PING G was far far tighter - so went for that. The M2 was a bit wild on mis strikes.

the Ping should be here tomorrow :whoo:
