didn't like the white bit on my M2 so got a contact at a sign company to wrap it with matte black.

i would imagine the wrap weighs so little it will make no difference, only negative will be if i skied it now.

It's called a Wrap (at least here in the USA it is)
In sign writing/Printing, its called a wrap. you, in theory should be able to go into any sign company and they could do this in minuets.

Get some vinyl apply it to crown and squeegee out the air bubbles
