I was watching tonight and I heard a snippet regarding the length he has gone without a 3 jab.......did they say 53 rounds or 53 tournaments?

Has to be rounds surely was it?

Either way it is phenomenal,about 52 and a half more rounds than me! :rolleyes:

I heard them talk about this last week and I think they said 340ish holes then so maybe 353 holes is what you heard? Whatever it is it's pretty phenomenal.

How he keeps performing at the same level week after week is quite incredible. He was 2nd in the Fedex last year and in a good position to win this year, let's hop he does it. Simply awesome.

He has some awesome golf stats.
When you look at his swing and putting stroke,they both ooze simplicity,very few moving parts,so ultimately,far less to go wrong.Sometimes,simplest is best.

Yeah heard the same quote - has to be rounds but looking at the way he is playing I wouldn't put it past him to reach the same number of tournaments without a 3 putt.

I enjoyed the later comment also from the commentator (possibly Butch Harmon) about 'tricking himself into thinking Luke wasn't a big enough hitter to get to some of the greens in 2 and then he pulls out a long iron and the way he hits it, it is dead centre of the green'. Shows his game is just spot on at the moment and he can do with a 5 iron what the rest can only do with a wedge :D

I think the yanks are really waking up to him now - although to be fair Butch has always said how awesome he is.

Luke=953 holes without a 3 putt

only 8 more top beat Dave Stockton, quite incredible when you think about it :eek:

As a slight aside, I think Luke's success could actually be incredibly good for the amateur game. We all like to copy th pros, and for years, the big hitters have been leading the way.

Now we have a golden example of someone who swings with rhythm, doesn't worry about hitting it 300+ off the tee, but instead makes the most of what he has with a killer short game.

A far more realistic and useful model to copy IMO.

He can get it out there when required, he made eagle on a 600+ yd par 5 a couple of weeks ago so it's in there if he needs it. A lot is made of his average but 15yds covers 24th place all the way to Luke at 147th.

He's really not that far behind most of the field.
