I have just noticed a lump on my left hand index finger which I think may be caused by my signet ring (right hand, 3rd finger) during the golf grip. I am a right handed golfer and use an interlocking grip. The lump is roughly pea sized, doesn't hurt and is on the right hand side of the finger (when viewing the back of the hand). Anyone else suffered from this and is it anything I should get checked out?

Interesting I’ve developed something similar on my right hand 3rd finger where I interlock. Feels like hard allowed skin and is quite red, doesn’t hurt but is annoying and been wondering if it needs checking. But with all my current injuries and ailments I’m half expecting the Dr to just sign my death certificate and be done with me.

Im intrigued as to what responses there are as I can’t seem to find answers in google.

I had something similar earlier this year and self-diagnosed as a Bouchard's node (beginning of OA). It was quite sore after playing golf but seems to have settled down over the last month or so. I'm sure someone more qualified can help though!

Almost certainly this. Generally comes with age.

Has it made you a lot poorer, left you often doubting yourself and sexually inactive?
If that’s the symptoms then it’s probably what’s known as a wedding ring.
There is a cure but it is very painful particularly on the wallet. 😂
Not that finger 🤣

Possibly trigger finger. I suffer it on my pinkie finger, little lump that feels grisly but not solid.

The tendon in the finger slips out of the little sheath it sits in and protrudes.

That sounds really painful.
It might not be but as soon as I hear things like tendons and ligaments I grimace

Hopefully not the start of Dupuytren’s contracture. I have this on my right hand and am currently awaiting a date for surgery. Hopefully it will happen at the end of the golf season.

Not painful per se. Mine had gotten to the stage where the finger locks up and that was painful. Had surgery on it but it’s coming back again.
Same…middle finger of left hand…plus (I think) a moveable lump (cyst) on the inside of the first joint. Have had a cortisone injection twice for the trigger finger (it gets a bit stuck when curled tightly) but that’s worn off. I think they may give a 3rd injection…but maybe not and an op may be all that can be done. Had the cyst scanned a couple of months back but no urgency from the GP to discuss report from it so guessing it’s basically nothing to really worry about.

That said…Finger-roll was actually quite painful this evening so looking to get an appointment asap with GP to discuss.
