Afternoon all,

For those who are interested we shot a video with World Number One, Luke Donald while we were up at Castle Stuart in which he went into great detail as to what clubs he carries and how everything is set up. It's a pretty interesting watch http://bit.ly/o2uKx4

Thanks,

Neil

It's a pretty interesting watch

Deffo is, I can't believe that he is using such an old ball - think he could afford a new one with his money :-p

Was actually shocked a bit by the ball statement - perhaps it's the next move for ball makers - ProV1x v1,2,3,4 etc????

Neil, on saturday at the PGA Donald hit is 2nd shot out of the bunker on the 18th and sky showed a real close up of the shot and it looked like he was using a Taylormade MC.

Did you or anybody else see it?

I saw that. It wasn't Luke. It was whoever he was playing with. Monty and Mark Roe were commentating from what I remember, Luke was in white trousers with white shoes, the other player in black shoes, that was the difference.
I noticed the same as you and it also got me wondering.

The interesting thing here was to hear how 'off the shelf' his clubs are... He could go into any pro shop, pick up a set of Mizuno's with a standard S300 shaft in and shoot the lights out.

Surely thats just a case of some of the shelf clubs fitting him, how many more of the top pros could say that.

At the end of the day he is pretty much average height and build, has a text book swing with a decent but not quick tempo.

Not sure you'd find either his driver or 3 wood shafts in your local store either

Yes that was a very interesting video, more like that please.

The ball doesn't surprise me but it's disappointing that titleist Market the worlds no 1 plays their prov1x......... Except you can't play what 'he' plays.

The irons shaft does surprise me however as there are at least 40 odd shafts and derivatives he could have for the optimum swing but has a stock s300.
