Lowest handicapper without an eagle?

I would hazard a guess and say probably not. To get eagles you need to be either pretty long or get lucky with a chip in or similar. Handicap is no reflection on either so quite likely there are a few lower guys that have never had one.

I've had 2 this year so far :ears:

At 13 handicap, am I the lowest handicapper on here to have never gotten an eagle, even in a bounce game?

:confused::confused::confused:

You'll need to come and play at mines in the summer. A wee breeze behind and a decent drive at our 8th hole and even I can get home in 2. Even been thru the back several times 😮😮

Probably the winner.
Quite surprising though for anyone who has been playing a while not just you.
A pitch in 2nd is quite common.

You'd be amazed at the amount of people who are suprised. I should be able to get to at least 2 out of the 4 Par 5's we have in 2...and in the summer, all of them...but I just can't get over the line. The closest I have come was 10 or so days ago at Celtic Manor on 15. Drive to 8ft and the putt didn't break enough and it ran over the left edge. My time will come!

You doubt tend to get too many if you don't get the timber out on a par 5.

I don't get as many as I should as i tend to just lay up.

Have a go in bounce games.

I've had...

Putts on par 5
Putts on par 4
Holing on from 130 par 5 (my first)
HIO

Waiting for that hole put from the fairway on a par 4.

So on the flip side, how high should you be NOT to achieve a meaningful eagle? By that I mean your on in 2 on a par 5 and putting for it, you might also be just short of the green and chipping for it, is there an acceptance of ability to be in the hunt for them or is there a level of handicap that shouldn't even be getting a couple of birdies per round never mind an eagle!

I have had plenty - but in the same vein am I the person here who has played the longest without getting a hole-in-one (43 yrs). I console myself with the thought that my handful of holed-out-from-150yds eagles are in some ways equivalent to H-i-Os - as they are just as lucky.

I've had plenty, normally at least one per year, but only on par 5's.
Never managed one on a par 3 or 4.

I watched a 16 year old hole a 5 wood on a par 4 si1 at my old course. He didn't believe it till he peered into the hole. I watched it the whole way.

I am in double figures - more than my handicap would suggest but the main reason the course I learned on and still occasionally play has 3 driveable par 4's.

*disclaimer* And I am talking 230-270 not 300+ :)

I've only one, driver hybrid to 6ft and holed the putt.
Had other opportunities on par 4's and 5's but never converted, some agonisingly close but never dropped.
My course has only 2 par 5's and both play into the prevailing wind and aren't often getable in two. I don't play away much so that limits my opportunities.

I've had plenty. Mostly via a putt on reachable par 5s (both at my course are easily in range) but have also holed a couple of second shots on par 4s. Never managed a HIO though....
