Had a hit of the M1 the other day and was getting great numbers out if it, got my spin below 3000 for a change, not paying £400 for a driver though as the missus just wouldn't understand! Any cheaper low spin ones out there?

whilst i hate the driver, the SLDR is super low spin isnt it? could pick that up really cheap nowadays.

Taylormade SLDR is also low spinning. Not every forgiving though if you miss center. Good few reviews and comparisons between it and the M1 on Youtube.

I have an M2 with a rogue silver shaft in it, and the numbers I was getting were much lower than that, I was averaging 2900 with the M1 I had, down to 2300 with m2.

I would say SLDR too.

or I have the M2 (1)with a matrix white tie, dropped my spin right down, its high launch shaft too.. goes miles further than any of the other drivers ( a lot) ive had in the last two years....

It really depends what your budget is. The Ping G30 LS tec is great and can pick up for about £130ish second hand. The SLDR and the i20 will be much cheaper, around the £60-70 mark.

Cleveland Classic XL custom.

I owned one and it was a boomer. I know it was sold as a very low spinner at the time. bet you could get one with a top shaft for well under a ton

Id also back the i25. Looks the buisness and sounds great

Another vote for the SLDR!

Maybe not quite as forgiving, but probably not by as much as the hype about the newer models.

Remember to 'loft up' somewhat though. And it's the shaft that's key! Perhaps with a bit of fiddling (then forgetting) the weights!

For older/more affordable models Adams XTD TI or 9064LS are great too. 9064LS is glue-in; XTD is compatible with latest TM adapters. 9064LS was MyGolfSpy's driver of the year - ahead of that year's SLDR!

So what's more important in reducing the spin rate from the driver? The shaft or the head? Isn't it more a combination.
All the drivers mentioned above what makes the head of them less spinning that any others?

It is a combination of both, as well as the swing. But the heads are designed with the weighing more to the front of the driver, supposedly reduces the spin by about 300 rpm. I have to say that when I have hit them, the spin numbers have been lower. But I have not hit them with the same shaft in each driver.

You can lower spin by a greater amount by changing your swing, but every little helps I guess.

3k is still very high for an M1. Less loft will lower your spin if you can deal with the less launch.

Strike strike strike strike.

Oh and don't hit down on it. high spin is most likely a low on face strike and a negative angle of attack.
