Beautiful morning down here in Sussex, flat calm, not a hint of a breeze and quite warm already. Going to be a hot one methinks.
Teeing off at Highwoods just after 9 this morning with Leftie, CrapHacker and Golfmmad for a nice friendly game.
Hopefully they'll enjoy their first visit to my home track.
Fingers crossed we all play well....

Its bright and sunny here and I'm in two minds about going to the club this afternoon. Heavy thundery showers predicted and it was unbearably hot playing yesterday. I might have a practice session later instead and then play tomorrow

Just checked the forecast, which all week has been showing Thursday as being glorious sunshine with rain coming in around 10:00 p.m. - planned a round after work this evening.

The revised forecast now shows thunderstorms from mid-afternoon! Looks like it will be the range instead

Got out this morning for 9 behind a Seniors match that semed to take an age. Tremendously hot and humid, not nice to be out in. Started lashing it down about 1/2 hour after I finished - great timing. Playing again tomorrow afternoon and with the rain forecast for tonight we may need preferred lies!!

Smiffy and Leftie battled it out all day, with Smiffy just edging it at the last. They both gave Craphacker and myself a lesson in consistent driving, well played both.
Trouble with Smiffys length of driving - don't listen to him Bobmac

Craphacker, he very nearly plays as well as he talks a good game
It was good to meet Leftie today, he lets his golf do the talking, well played. Just wish I had played better though, but didn't let it spoil the day.

Finally, thanks again Smiffy for inviting us down and look forward to meeting up again soon.

Great day, great weather, great company and great course. (Did you notice no mention of the golf? )

Seriously, Smiffy was, as usual, a great host and walked off with the money again :shocked. He and I halved the front 9 with 18 points each but he just scraped home with one extra point on the back 9 to win back 9 and overall. I think that the heat and sun was getting to all of us towards the end but there was some good golf played by all. Both Craphacker and Golfmad played some great shots and clearly have the ability to reduce their handicaps.

Due to it's location, the course is fairly dry and judging approach shots was very difficult. I've never known so many shots into the green from all players running through to the back and it took a while for all of us to adjust.

Smiffy wanted to take my money on a matchplay side bet. No chance!! I toyed with him all the way round and, being the gentleman I am

I did take some photos and tried to put them on Photobucket. Unfortunately, the ones of Smiffy were rejected as being of "unsuitable content"

Great report and thanks for the warning that he is still hustling as HTL and I are taking him and his mate Norm on at Ascot next weekend. I would have loved to have put a piece in the mag about the meet as this is exactly the kind of thing (with pics) that I need month in month out, but with the Belfry taking up next months and the Scottish boys the month after I just can't squeeze it in.

Anyway glad you had a good day and well done for topping up the old timers pension fund.
