louis Van Gaal

the futures bright the futures oranje.....

giggsy has retired from playing to become full time assistant manager.

and I suspect waynes bleating as he wont be captain now........

Is that before "papa dont preach"?;)

Van gaal/current player or coach was the structure and stature of manager/coach that they should have gone for last year.

Hindsight again eh mush :smirk:

That said i thought Moyesy did well!!

I wanted Van Gaal instead of Rodgers at the time as he's got a cracking pedigree in football and is a very experienced manager.

I can't believe i actually like both the Evrton and United managers:confused:

might well be a good coach but end of the day alot of the over paid (whatever word we agree on) are just not good enough to represent Man Utd ,

will world class players follow a manager, any manager, to a club with no European football ? not ones with ambition IMO,
they might pick up one or two that others are dropping , good enough to take utd back to top ?? not sure ..

another hard season ahead i think .. and im not anti utd in any way

Not this time, I said before Moyes that Man u should be going for a premium European manager such as Van gaal, Ancelotti, Hiddink.

I'm certain that last year will be put down as a blip, the salaries will be elevated to compensate/attract and there will be a get-out clause in the contract should CL qualification not be attained! That's the sort of tactics a skillful Manager needs to be able to negotiate! ManU can do it because they are such a massive club.

Did Man City have a problem attracting big names before it actually qualified for CL?

Very good appointment for Utd imo.

Van Gaal is a very talented manager with a no nonsense approach to man management and a terrific track record. I'm looking forward to seeing how he fares in the EPL.............pretty sure Plattini will be watching too. ;)

He could be quite interesting - has fallen out with most clubs he has managed and certainly doesn't hang around clubs for long

The team needs a lot of work in all areas and without CL they will need to offer a lot of money to players to persuade them to join.

Could be an interesting summer

Think he's already on record saying he's not going to be around after the three year contract (assuming he lasts) and that Giggs will be his apprentice and take over after that. I kind of like that. Liverpool did a lot to keep it within the club during their glory years and there might just be merit getting someone who knows the place and players

No i agree City didnt have that problem but City did exactly what you mentioned above they massively exaggerated salaries i dont think Man Utd will do the same , im not sure Utd would be in that position ...

As per my earlier post will world class players who are already on very good money be willing to give up European football ?
