Its looking increasingly likely I am joining a new club which has excellent practise facilities a practise range with indoor bays but also a couple of ropes which are moved up and down every day or so on fairway like grass...

Now if all goes to plan and I join I need...

BALLS a Ball Bag & something to suck them up with!

I realistically want to get about 100 balls that are decent enough to hit but also cheap enough to buy in a job lot. Am I right in thinking Ebay may be worth a search. (at work and its banned here) I also want to get a shag bag and they are looking pretty cheap and will save me alot of time and effort picking them all up.

Any recommendations on where to get them from would be great, I am guessing range balls will be pointless if I could pick up a job lot of lake/lost balls.

Are you bothered about brand, condition, premium/pebble?

Not bothered about brand I just want them in decent condition.

Whenever I find the odd dunlop, top flite etc in my basket at the range I believe there is a difference and as these will inevitably get lost and just be used to practise I don't mind too much which balls they are

Stay away from shag bags imo.
First of all they get very dirty very quickly.
Any sand picked up will act like sandpaper, and soon after the end will not screw up tight.
All this from experience.
Pay a little more on a proper bag,and clean regulary.

When I started off I bought 5 boxes of penfold commandos in Argos (a long time ago .. In county far far away). Now I just use ones I find, ones that are tired, and ones I won't play with. I usually spray them with car paint. This denotes they are mine and secondly this acts as an impact marker. I got a clicker from Amazon ( the red ended one has lasted longest the silver ended one the glue failed leaving me with a tube). You could be flash and wedge them into your ball bag, I only do this occasionally though, when their is an audience

That's a great shout Gibbo.

Glynn - Handsworth... It is awesome. One of those hidden gems. I pla a very repetitive course at the moment and this course has no 2 holes the same it seems. Alot more mature and maintained. Proper club feel to it too.

Saying that calderfields has been a good course to join as a newbie and is a deemt challenge.
