Lostwithiel Golf & Country Club, Closed?.

Can anyone confirm that this club has closed. I think it was due for closure on November 1st.

I haven't heard any more than it was closing on 1st November this year and it had been dissolved as a company with companies house in March of this year.
Shame but with 300 odd members it will be good for other clubs in that area of Cornwall.

What! Didn't know it was going. I had a great day with some mates on a golfing holiday down that way. Why did it shut?

I too had a great Fri./Sat/Sun there with fifteen others a few years ago. For one it was his home course.
Sad if it has gone.

So it should be after wind your way up (dogleg left, dogleg right) up the bleedin hill! Nearly killed my FiL - and he was using a trolley! The Par 3 that drops down onto the Fowey flats is fun too, as was the Par 5 that led to it. Great views too!

Sad loss, but that's commercial reality! Lostwithiel always seems a place to 'go through' rather than 'go to'!

To be fair there are quite a few clubs down this way with less that 250 members and there is a summer league most of us play in with 250 as a maximum membership.

From what I have heard on the grapevine it has a lot more to do with planning being granted to build houses about half the course.
