Last year I was captain of the club's Rabbit's team. My game suffered during the season and I decided not to play any winter golf so haven't picked a club up since November.
Now with the new season approaching I'm not even sure I'm going to rejoin. Just seem to have lost the need for golf. Anyone else suffered from this and how do I get over it.

Just wait until the Masters in April, that usually does the trick!;)

If not forget about it, its a hobby not a job, do something else. Committee positions/responsibilities can make golf feel like a job sadly, get off the committee for a start.

Once I see the magnolias in bloom down Augusta way my golfing juices start to flow.

I have maybe played one round in 6 or 7 months and it was shocking and embarrassing. The embarrassment is some what motivating in its self but I am not pushing anything and golf will be here for me when I get back.

Had the same with cricket, became a job.

It's why I changed to golf.

Problem is, I was decent a cricket :(

What a shame that bag of goodies is not being used, do you want me to keep them warm?:D

The approach and broo-ha of Masters should be the inspiration for any golfer feeling a bit negative to dust the sticks off and get back into it!

And speaking of Magnolias.... Try some of these http://www.gardenclinic.com/blog/5-reasons-not-to-settle-for-your-average-magnolia - especially the spectacular 'Atlas' and 'Vulcan', both of which flower very young! Both from the world leading Kiwi garden of Felix/Mark Jury! I had a number of folk put photos of the 'Atlas' in (lunch plate size) flower that I planted in front of our house in Virginia Water.
