Played my best round yet yesterday, I went round in 96 but what is most frustrating is it could have been so much better. Through the front 9 which is the harder I took 45 shots. The way I was playing I thought I had a great chance of breaking 90. After 13 holes I was still well on target to do this. Then the most annoying thing happened. 14th is a longish uphill par 3 and was into the wind on Sunday. I hit what looked like a lovely drive which landed just before the green and rolled up onto it. As the green is raised you can't see the surface from the tee box. When we got up to the green I couldn't find my ball, totally expected it to be on the green or maybe just through. In my optimism I even checked in the hole, took the full 5 mins looking and never found it. Had to go back hit another and ended up with a six.
Head now pickled I made a bit of a mess of the final few holes. However looking back I am delighted with how I played and now believe I may be able to play to 18 some day.
Just so annoyed at loosing a ball that I should never have. No idea what may have happened to it :D

I've had that before. Watch a cracking tee shot fly towards a green only to get up to the green for the ball never to be found.

I'm always amazed how sometimes the ball can just take a odd bounce and just bugger off. As is golf though.

Keep your head up, you'll soon break 90. ;)

Very unlucky, you will break 90,but one thing you must learn to do is exept bad luck,it happens but dont let it get in your head.
In the end you only lost 3 shots so you was still well on course.

Unfortunately I managed to let it get in my head and put 2 balls OOB over the final 4 holes which is what did the real damage. I knew I was going well but was trying hard not to count score as I was going along. When I realised I finished with a personal best at the end I was a bit irate at myself for allowing the bit of bad fortune to get to me.
Still have to look at the positives, had nothing worse than a 7 all day including the holes with balls OOB, and had nothing worse than a 6 in the front 9. This is the consistency I am trying to aim for as it's usually a couple of nightmare holes that ruin my card.
