Loss of distance!

As already said, don't worry about the lost distance as it's from the total distance rather than just carry. I played yesterday and on the odd occasion I actually hit the fairway it just sat there. That meant I was losing at least 40 yards on my usual driving distance of 350yds plus..... :thup:
 
97 mph swing speed with a driver is plenty enough to see you into single figures. There's no real need to swing out of your boots and lose control, as you are already faster than average.

You really do need to work on your short game though, as it's clearly this that is the issue, not length off the tee.

I will indeed be practising the short game. Was just curious about distance as like unsaid this is my first winter of golf so was curious to how it affects my game.
