Losing weight/fitness thread

6 mile training run with the lads doing 4 mile run/walk/run.

@Bazz waterproof jacket on as forecast was heavy rain, not a drop, no wind and muggy! Sweated like a pig😂😂
Was a really bad time to find out my waterproof jacket wasn't in fact waterproof. Dont think I'll bother next time.

This is the problem I had back in my football days, true waterproof jackets are ridiculously hot, so if you don't want to sweat like you're wearing a greenhouse, you have to settle for water resistant with some breathability.

I'm alright going jacketless when I'm running, as long as its mild and raining. But golf I'd rather sweat because I'm just not moving quick enough to warm up.

Upper body this morning shoulders really feeling good at last and getting some mobility back in it and starting to see some strength returns again finally. Tomorrow finally gong to test out some proper cardio and a small run to see how the hip is.

Second ride on the new bike, wow what a machine, much more powerful than my old bike 😱
I’ve tamed the power output in the app so it’s less aggressive 🤣
Connected my Garmin watch to the bike and started to broadcast my heart rate to it, set the bike to try and stay at around 120 bpm and boom, you can feel the extra assistance as you get in the heart beat range then gets harder to pedal as it lowers, absolute game changer. I can finally work on my cardio without being bored (I hate running lol).

Another couple of weight sessions in the last 3 days, feeling pretty good now.
Have been doing exercises religiously for my shin splints the last 15 days and dare I say it, but I can’t feel any pain….
Home from work in a week so will continue with the rehab exercises until then.

Lower body session this morning all very light but quite nice and the best part managed the smallest of runs on the treadmill. Absolutely the slowest and most pathetic 1.6km I’ve ever done but the hip held up and doesn’t feel tight. So baby steps it’s but nice to be back moving again.

Put 5lb on last week, which I think was my body retaining water as it was so hot, and I've lost 4lb this week. Weird innit.

Also, I was doing a 7 miler last night and I got spotted by my cousin walking as I was changing podcasts, picture posted in the family group chat and they won't stop calling me a fraud.

Just a 5K today, got my annual LTC, Long Term Condition, review at the Dr’s wednesday, 🤞 it’ll be OK, but at least I’ll get a good look at whether the last 12 months of trying to stay healthy has been worth it.😇

Nice ride out on my new bike, nothing techy just a route I’ve done a few times before on my old bike, it has some stunning views over Northumberland in a few places 😍
Dropped down to the pump track at Chopwell on my way back, there was some kind of meet going on, must have been over a hundred kids all having a blast on the track, was great to see, the pump track has been a massive asset for the area 👍IMG_0839.jpeg
