Losing weight/fitness thread

I weighed myself this morning - 11st 11lbs

I have set myself a target of losing 4 lbs over the next three months. 11st 7lbs or 73kg.
That is the weight I was last August when I was applying for annuity quotes.
I'm in charge of all meal preparation so I have no excuse.

Hope the course dries out soon so that I can get out there more than once a week rather than the once a month which it has been for the last 3 months.
Made it.
11st 6lbs this morning.
I like that - 160lbs
Approx 72.5kg

Did the 1 mile warm up, cool down for myself and met the lads at the 1 mile point for a 4 mile run/walk/run session.

One of the blokes has been sceptical about it helping doing run/walk/run, but tonight he saw his 4 mile time come down by over a minute a mile in just 5 weeks.

Upper body session in the gym at 5am today to beat the heat. It was blissful I was the only soul in the fully air conditioned building wish I could’ve stayed there all day.

Then lunchtime was incline walk on the treadmill with increasing pace and incline, trying to get this hip back in position to run again as I’m really missing proper cardio. Hip mobility afterwards felt pretty good still getting some weird clicking sensations when I internally rotated but getting better movement.

Down another 1kg last week, so about 5.5 kg overall since the start of May. Can see a difference when I look in the mirror which is nice, just need to keep at it.

Managed to avoid the ice creams and chocolates at work yesterday, but of a challenge but not too bad.
Great effort that 👏🏻👏🏻
Certainly not easy.

7 miles this morning, and feel much better. Not only has my gut flattened out a bit but mentally too. Mad how much I need to run, or I get all ratty.
Running is all about the way you feel mentally for me, the physical part is secondary in my case.
Desperate to get back out there, great feeling when you’ve done your run 😀

What bike have you gone for 😎

Amflow PX Carbon so back down the emtb route, they’re just sooooo much fun to ride. What tipped the scales on this one, you can connect your HRM (hopefully my Garmin watch) to the bike and set what heart rate you want to be on the app, the motor then gives just enough assistance to try and keep it in that zone. Really clever stuff and light years ahead of the emtb I bought back in 2019.

Just did my last run for May, 10K in 56:04, toal mileage for the month 65 miles or 104Km.

Feeling rather pleased with my time for the 10K, rather hot out there, and my total for the month.

Then read Bazz’s post.👏👏👏 incredible mate.

Promise to try harder next month.😂😂

Been a good week in many respects but annoying in another. Upper body sessions are going well with shoulder feeling really good. Physios been so good she’s already got me back doing load bearing lower body and the hip whilst still tight is building back up. Still not allowed to squat as she wants me working unilaterally so I don’t make compensations elsewhere. Barbell lunges at 40kg today which is literally 50% of my usual load but felt like I was trying to lift the moon where it’s been so long. But tweaks in technique she’s made it felt good so everything with the body is finally getting back on track, and she reckons I could be back running in 2 weeks😎

The annoying part is the Med centre at work are enforcing a physio change to be the one at my new place of work. Where that have no experience of my case and no background in sports rehab. I’ve already decided at financial cost to me I’m going to continue seeing the woman I’m with and essentially just turning up to the work physio because I have to an won’t be following their advice, I’ll be polite and advise them of why but it’ll be a waste of both our times as we will both be there because we’ve been told to be. It’s not to be dick but I’m not sacrificing progress because of red tape.

7 rain soaked miles after work, it didn't stop raining for the whole hour.

I kept thinking to myself that my competition* wouldn't be out in this and it spurred me on.

*completely made up people in my head
