Losing weight/fitness thread

I seriously need to find motivation I’ve trained about 4 times in 3 weeks. For someone that’s usually 6 days a week I’ve just lot all desire. Was seeing good progress but the hip and shoulder has just made me lose my mojo. Need to start again this week and aim for consistency over motivation I think.

I totally get it. My constant long term shoulder issues just make me switch off. I sit down all day for the job and sometimes when the shoulder gets me down, I can’t be bothered to go for a walk

Starting a new job role today which has also had my focus rather than training. Problem is it’s a much more sedentary role than I’m used to, so need to sort myself out and get some consistency.

1 mile warm up and 1 mile cool down with a 5 mile run/walk/run with the lads inbetween.

Lovely evening run, especially after we’d had a few downpours during the day.

First time under 100kg since we came out of covid - I came out fat.

Goal is not far away at 95kg, which is my perfect weight (not according to health charts, but what I am happy at).

Lovely early session in the new work gym this morning. Doing my hip and shoulder mobility sessions. Everything is so tight and highlights I’ve been lazy but the set up in the gym is unreal will make going so much easier as so many options.

Also buoyed by the fact one of the staff was blaring out North London forever on the speaker system to annoy all the northerners 😂

Lower body yesterday felt pretty good and pretty strong.

Mobility today as per physio. It’s crippled me 😂. Soon as I have to do the supposed easy stuff for my hip and shoulder I feel battered for days after.

My shoulder and neck are so tight and feel like they did weeks ago and my hip feels like an 80 year old. I hate bloody injuries especially when they don’t feel like they’re getting better.

Following an official diagnosis of artritis in my knee a couple of months ago, I followed orders and stopped running. Pulled out of Lincoln 10k.

As part of Wellness UK, I got a discounted gym membership and started cardio and leg work under the physio's program.

6 weeks ago, I got a Durolane injection, which essentially injects thick fluid in the knee to become a lubricant and shock absorber. Can take several weeks to work, and for first 2 weeks my knee was worse than before the injection. But, almost overnight after that, it suddenly felt perfect. No stiffness, no pain. Like having the knee of a child.

The physio has given me a program to get back into running. First one tonight. Just a simply walk / light jog interval session. Found a nice big grass area to reduce impact, beautiful evening. Nice to be out there again 😀
