Hi don't know if many of you will be from around my way, but I'm looking to join a club in Ayrshire and get a handicap. Anyone have any suggestions, im not after stuffy and mainly play the muni courses.....Belleisle/Seafield most.

As above- what part of Ayrshire are you? Although you may be willing to travel to courses, there's nothing like having your home course within 15 minutes drive.

I'm 5mins from Belleisle & Seafield so would prefer to play out of it. Although don't mind the odd trip to Troon to play, so a club between Ayr and Troon would suit.

Have you checked the clubs that play out of Bell isle ? That'd be a starting point. If it's a members club you're after then Prestwick St Nicholas or Prestwick St Cuthbert aren't too far away. What s there attached to Sea died ?

There isn't much attached to Seafield, I think they now operate out the old starters office. A brand new clubhouse is in development though for both the courses so it should be a great facility once it's done.

I should maybe of been a little clearer, I do know of the Belleisle clubs etc, it's not a problem finding one. I'm just trying to join one that maybe someone has had a good experience with.

Belleisle/ Tam o' Shanter in Ayr or Troon Welbeck would be your best Muni options. Welbeck have their own bar and locker room within the clubhouse. If you just want to get a handicap and play Dalmilling is quite a friendly club but the course is damp in winter.
Private clubs would be Prestwick St Nicks unless you want something much posher and expensive.
I would pass on St Cuthberts.

Pub club based at the Abbotsford Hotel is also a good base, official SGU club.

Kilmarnock Barrasie is a nice course, 27 holes. Maybe at the outer edge of where you would travel though. Prestwick St Nicks looks nice, not played it yet though.

Loads to choose from.
