Golfers are notorious for wearing LOUD and clashing clothing.
Watching many of the Pro's I have to say many are immaculately turned out with the exception of the certain few such as Daly (what's going on with those trousers man?) and on occasion Ian Poulter (Looks quite smart toaday at The Players Championship)
How much importance do you put on looking smart on the course?
Do you prefer co-ordinating gear? Are you a clashing mirage of loudness? Does sober colouration dominate your golfing wardrobe, or could you not care less opting for a comfy pair of old chinos, even if they are now half way up your ankles!
Personally I tend to dress very conservatively, preferring dark non attention attracting clothing such as blacks and dark blues. I do like to turn myself out smartly though and make efforts to ensure my clothes are tidy and always wear clean shoes. It just wouldn't feel right turning up to play with a slightly grungy look.
I once played with a guy who turned up in the carpark wearing jeans. I was gobsmacked when he dragged a battered and extremely badly creased pair of beige chinos out of his bag and got changed in the clubhouse. I swear he came out of the clubhouse and walked onto the 1st tee looking like someone who was hell bent on saving whales and the planet! Scruffy git!
In fairness, he did say he had rushed over sraight from work to play, not having had time to go home and change his clothes. Forgiveness was offered!
