As the title says, I'm looking for somewhere to play near Haywards Heath.

It'll be three of us, and we're playing this Sunday.

What's Pyecombe like? Any good?

Ideally, we'd like to play somewhere which won't have temporary greens and tees in play. I appreciate it's hard to guarantee that at this stage.

Pyecombe will fit your requirements perfectly - if you can get on at a weekend. Very friendly bunch all round so just give them a call. It is a little hilly.....

Thanks Duncan - I've given them a call and I'm booked in for 1pm. I thought it looked like it should drain quite well, it's downland isn't it? £30 seemed reasonable - no temporary greens in play at the moment, and then a mixture of temporary tees, full tees and a couple of mats.

Hilly doesn't bother me, but just for context, more or less hilly than Lamberhurst...?

Hi Canary Yellow - i'm a member at Pyecombe so if there is anything you wish to know, drop me a line. The course tends to hold up well during winter being chalk-based and traversing the South Downs. As Duncan alluded to, there are a couple of changes in elevation, most notably on the 3rd hole that will get the heart rate up!

I haven't played in a couple of weeks so cant vouch for the greens at the moment, but they are usually good no matter the weather. What is certain, you wont be up to your knees in mud - if fact I cant remember ever washing my shoes last year...just a blast with the air hose after playing.

I am actually playing on Sunday, but 1st thing i the morning but I could have a word with the Pro and see if I can 'remotely' sign you in as I wont be at the club past 11.30am. Just PM me your details and I will see what I can do.

Oh, and I recommend the Harveys...a nice drop.
