somewhere equi distant would be grand.

any recommenations ?

Hartley Wintney GC?

I played it about 10 years ago and remember it as an ok course..

You don't say when you want to play, so not sure if any of these are weekends.

Top Notch courses: try Basingstoke GC, Camberley Heath GC, Hankley Common GC or Tylney Park.

Alternatively, go North a bit from Woking and play Sunningdale or The Berkshire for proper top notch courses!

Tylney Park - great track, awesome VFM, can get on pretty much any time.....

Tylney is good, Calcot is reasonable. Blackmoor, Bearwood, etc

What do you class as top notch. Quality of the course, value for money etc?

Played with someone today who has just given up his membership at Hartley Whitney. His comments were "I am fed up with playing in mud in the winter".

Many of the courses mentioned are very nice, but at the risk of becoming a stuck record, none are in the same league as Hankley Common. Its like comparing Dunlop to Titleist, the Dunlop may do the job, offer fair value and be ok, but the Titleist is the superior product in every way.

EVERY course had mud this winter - we never ever see any but this year was just 3 months of squelch

By top notch, I mean a premier course. I'm looking to entertain a customer for the day so what something a little special.

I live in Wokingham, so know the course around here, was looking for something half way between the two towns.
