Hi guys

Im new to the forum so thought I would post a hello to you all. Ive just got back into the game after a number of years off. I have just moved to Cheshire and was wondering if any of you had any recommendations of a golf club to join. Not knowing too many people in the area that play golf means I cant get any info from them.

Ive gone through some of the course websites but was looking for some real world experiences.

many thanks

Mark

I've played a few in opens in Cheshire, were about do you live? Also how much (ish) do you want to pay. The likes of Portal, Carden park etc will probably be over £1,000.00, some of the others may only be about the £800.00 mark.

Ive not played any of the courses yet as im still trying clubs.Thats going to be sorted in the next week or 2. Im based in middlewich.

I had not swung a club in years but was surprised how quickly it came back to me on the range.

If Crewe isn't too far for you, Gorsty Hill is a nice track, well maintained and fit for play all year round. Membership is reasonable with no joining fee (I think).

Peover golf club Nr Knutford is a nice course then you also have Mere Golf club which might be a bit pricey.

All these are class and probably top end:

Sandiway
Mere
Wilmslow
Prestbury.

Also Bramhall and Ringway.

With the exception of Sandiway they may be too far away. Going South you may consider Hill Valley

Hi Mark,

I play at Vale Royal Abbey, about 15 mins from Middlewich.

Can thoroughly recommend. A lovely track that plays all year round.

Very welcoming, regular Saturday and midweek comps, fair sized roll up on a Sunday.

Cheers

Steve...
