Not feeling that impressed with Jan, maybe just the weather because as I looked back over this new year on a personal note, I found that I should be smiling...

I have had two rounds of golf one shooting 77 the next 72 although it was winter greens.

I recently played darts best of 5 games of 501 where I won three nil with 11 dart finish, 14 dart finish and 15 dart finish. never been that consistant even when I was younger.

Had some of my photos published in a mag following a friends special wedding (Worzel and Aunt Sally theme)

Been to watch Joe Brown in concert.

Offered a house in Vermont for Holidays absolutely free whenever we chose.

Invited to go on a night flight to view stars and northern lights.

Got a nice chunk of my book written.

And got invited to be involved in Calendar girl style calendar shoot later in the year to raise funds. ;)

Not a bad January after all really, funny how sometimes you dont notice what you have till you think about it. :D

I'm much the same. A month that had few peaks and some troughs.

Started well with the swing going well and feeling very excited about getting out to play. Then came the snow. Two full rounds all month although one was a competition and finished 2nd. The swing is back to mis-firing again

HID still not found a job since her contract ended in October. We may be out of recession but the job market still very patchy even on the temp side. Money tight.

Got featured in this months GM which was nice. Had some stuff turned down by a couple of magazines which was a real downer as it was work I was quite proud of. Might need to rework it and find a different market.

HID lost her grandad so off to a funeral on Tuesday. Got a lesson booked for Tuesday night so something positive to look forward too. Another month closer to the longer nights too.

You missed out adding a little controversy to the forum! ;)

Whats this book you mentioned?

Ha ha, yes I forgot that ;)

The book is more like a diary of funny events in my life from when I was a kid to date. Mainly written for the sake of getting one published and leaving it for the kids, no intention to make money but if it does it does, but thats not the purpose.

Bloody harder than I thought doing the research though and trawling through memory banks. Its taken ages just to get a portion of it done in rough form. One memory leads to another that I have to add, then getting details right is a bugger, because its not a story I could make up as I go along it has to be accurate. But I will get there maybe in a year I hope. :D

January.
Worked a lot including some weekends. Watched the snow fall, walked to work several times. Golf course frozen and covered in snow.
Didn't play golf. Only decent golf day (last Saturday) got called into work.

Went to the pub a few times though!

The end.

January
out once at the beginning, finished as the snow hit
worked solid until 30th when I got out again - Tilsworth - awful course, but I was out.

oh and I've had a b awful recycling throat infection-cold-chest infection-cold all month, which I'm still trying to get rid of.

I'd rather forget January

Cabin Fever set in with all the snow and ice, golf is a distant memory having not hit a ball since October. New baby has meant a general lack of sleep and some irritability but great to see him develop, heating oil use has been astronomical costing a fortune (48p/litre ffs). Work has been restricted due to snow again. Didn't even manage to get skiing despite some good conditions (for Scotland) which was silly on my part.
Started some keep fit which is going ok. Exercise at 40 isn't so easy though! Recovery time is long.
Annoyed my rotator cuff injury isn't much better despite having rested it plenty, done some physio and played no golf.

Glad to see the back of January to be frank. Have had snow cover for about 7 weeks now.
