Long Putters are the minority at the moment, but it seems that more and more Pro's are making the switch to long putters and if the rate of take up continues i think it wont be long before traditional putters are the minority.

Would it bother you to see most of the field using long putters, and are you thinking of making the switch yet?

No rational reason, but it is annoying me seeing so many Pro's using them now:(.

got a belly putter and at 1st I loved it, struggle with distance control though, its either spot on or way out

I actually think you have a better technique and control with a standard putter as you have more feel for the putt

Couldn't care less if playing my playing partner(s) used them, I honestly don't mind. If they feel it helps them better their scores them I'm all for that.

Personally I prefer the short, flat stick.

Saying that I've never tried a belly/broom handle putter so I can't/won't pass judgement on something i have no experience with.

Sorry, A bit of a traditionalist me ,and think they should be banned, seems wont be long before every tom ,dick and harry are using them, even the " younger generation " are now using them, you cannot tell me that they cant use the short/normal putter...

Its groundhog day AGAIN, YET AGAIN, YET ANOTHER THREAD ON THIS, PROBABLY THE 3RD IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS.

I know Craw, But its Thursday, a new tournament is on the telly and there are more Pro's using the Long putter than last week, not just Pro's struggling to make the cut, but top50 pro's.

Apparently they reckon that the long putter will be the norm in 5-10 years and the short stick something of an antiquity.
God I hope not but each to their own.

this post is different to the norm in a sense anyway.

Pro's can use whatever they want imho, they make awesome putts with either and at the same token miss sitters.

whats the ratio of wins for long v short putters? would be interesting, also putts made with either
