so i just got back from the london golf show and i have to say i am very let down. excel is a massive venue but the golf show could have been held in my livingroom it was so small. most of the stalls were holiday or join out golf club based so not much there the ability to test out clubs on the driving range was good but you can do that at many other places without paying £15 for the plesure. and worst of all i left empty handed not even one free golf ball what is that about where are all the freebies. some good deals in the shops but nothing you cant beat online.

I was there as well today.

Do I remain professional in my opinion of it; or not??

No Mizuno. No Footjoy. No Ping. No Galvin Green. No Titleist..............You get the idea. If fact no punters. Harsh. Just a bit maybe. But when I counted half a dozon empty stand spaces and a few more filled with posters. It's not a great start.

Other stands included, foam mattress toppers, Trinny and Suzanna hold up pants, (plus a stage show!), Eon or some other electricity supplier, plus other irrelevant rubbish that has no place at a golf show. Okay so there were relevant stands, and I found something interesting products that will be added to the website soon.

I went, thinking that I might pick up a bargin of a cart bag. Hard luck!! NB didn't have any there!!

It's reinforced my decision not to exhibit there, and the loss of some sellers from the NEC show reinforces the fact that it's not a productive / profitable way of selling goods.

It's a shame really, as I really do think that a 'good' exhibition is worth attending. And I would exhibit at a good show. But with a lack of visitors and a lack of some of the big brands, I can't see it being viable.

A vicious downward spiral for the organisers. Not enough to interest the visitor, not enough visitors to attract the exhibitors. Who caves in first and at what price?

It's a great shame.

Has the internet killed the exhibition?

The internet hasn't killed exhibitions, there's still plenty of evidence to show people will attend and spend money on attending when the exhibition is good.

Glad I didn't waste my money on this one
