Looking at buying my first hybrid to replace my old 5 wood as a good club for 200-220 yards especially for long par 4s and par5s.

Looking at the Titleist 913H but not sure about 19 or 21 deg loft, dont want too big a gap from 4 iron

Any help appreciated

to replace a 5w, i would look at the 19 degree hybrid, i carry a 5w and a 22deg hybrid. about 30 yards between the 2

probably a 4 hybrid you're after.

Can recommend the taylormade superfast burner 2.0. I carry the #6 - 27 degree one and have just purchased the #5 - 24 today. Can't wait to have a hit of it later on tonight.

I hit the 6 around the 180 mark, it's my favorite club.

I agree with posts #2 and #3 - 19 / 3h; maybe 20 in some models will be a close match to a 5w in practice

Gap to a 4i will very much depend on the h chosen, the 4i and how well you hit both. Many club golfers don't hit a 4i significantly further than a 5, certainly in carry terms (and their 6 goes further than either!!!).

If the 3h isn't performing I will often swap over to a 5w (and vice versa of course!) whilst the 4h gets loads more bag time than the 4i and a 3w of some sort will be in there all the time.

I'd pick one that goes the required distance, and ignore whatever is written on the bottom of it. Different heads/shafts will make each club slightly different in distance, so pick the one that goes the required distance and is easiest to use.

Any particular reason?[/QUO

I'm not good enough to discuss 2deg with anyone but ... My reckoning is that if your hitting it fairly consistently then the distance won't be an issue, on saying that you can surely adjust the loft slightly (if need be) and it will make for an easy replacement against your old 5w.

Hopefully you will make the right choice, the 21

When I did my fitting with ping, they fitted me with the 17 deg as a 5 wood alternative. Slightly less loft but shorter shaft than traditional fairway wood so distance roughly equal (subject to each golfers swing etc). It is their 2i equivalent so make sense in the traditional 3i the 5w bag.

This is the correct answer. Go and hit some balls with the one you want and find one that fits your gap, rather than letting people on a forum guess which one is right for you based on their characteristics

Try a few out. Some get the ball out there on a more penetrating flight than others which are a bit more of a rainbow flight. Find the one you like and ignore the number on the bottom. Of course, if you can get access to a launch monitor it'll give you a lot more data but it isn't the end of the world if not and easy to decide by sight

I went back to a 5 wood from a 19 degree hybrid and to be honest I haven't looked back as the 5 wood does everything I want of and is my banker club from the fairway and semi rough. Distance wise there isn't a great deal in it however I find the 5 wood more consistent and it gets there with less effort.

This. Pick a range/pro with some sort of distance tracker and buy something to fit the gap.

Also found the same, as much as the Adams is awesome.... There's something about a 5w
