I am heading up to Loch Lomond for a couple of days and was hoping to play The Carrick at Cameron House, but it's full. Any recommendations for a similarly good course in the area? Or should I leave the clubs at home and treat HID to a golf free break?

Sorry - obvious questions - where are you staying (Loch Lomond is big and long) and how long are you willing to take to drive to a course to play (30mins or an hour?). I don't think there is much at all golf wise within 15-20mins of The Carrick.

We are staying at Cameron House. Don't mind travelling. It's a shame the Carrick is full. I played Loch Lomond once (as a guest) which was brilliant. It would have been nice to play somewhere with views of the loch. Mrs Sweep may well have been tempted to caddy

Over the hills to Helensburgh or Cardross......not very far.
Buchanan Castle on the east side is another option, that also gives you a chance to stop at that smashing little tea room.

Cardross
Helensburgh
Vale of Leven
Strathendrick
Buchanan Castle - would be my choice
Dumbarton
Marr Hall
Dalmuir
Clydebank & District
Erskine
Gleddoch

Loads within 30 minutes drive.

Thanks for your replies. Buchanan Castle looks nice on t'interweb. I will see if I can get in there. Thanks again.
