Since we are discussing bands and music, how many of us used to go to concerts, how many still do? I have been going for years and still thoroughly enjoy it; got Big Country, Mark Knopfler, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, The Who & Bon Jovi again booked for this year. I will also be paying a few visits to Sutton United where a local promoter puts on some very good bands. Any other concert goers out there?

Used to see anyone and everyone at the Hammersmith Odeon back in the day - I couldn't list them all, far too many.
Also Wembley Arena and the NEC on plenty of occasions.
Closer to home, Friars club in Aylesbury used to have some decent bands on and used to frequent Rock City in Nottingham when HID lived there...
Don't go anymore, the cost is getting prohibitive, working hours are so varied in our jobs that it's hard to plan for thngs like that, and often we simply don't get to hear about Tours until it's too late.

Haven't been to a gig in a while TBH, had tickets for a gig back in December but had to cancel due to a bereavement.

Might go back to the Wickerman Festival this year (after a two year break) as Primal Scream are headlining.

I used to go to gigs all the time when I was younger but stopped for some reason but am starting to get back into it again. Despite being the wrong side of 40 now I have been to Download for 2 out of the last 3 years (camped for the full 5 days both times) and went to the Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes in the other year. This year I am tempted to see The WOnderstuff at Rock City in April and may go to the Wonderstuff/Pop Will Eat Itself/ Jesus Jones gig at Xmas.

i used to go to a lot, but the last straw was Primal Scream a couple of years ago, I knew i was just too old when i said to the wife the amps were too loud:(

OOO Loads of bands, Motorhead, Saxon, Thin Lizzy, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, 10CC, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Status Quo, Black Sabbath, Siouxie & The Banshees, Tom Robinson Band, ZZ Top, Iron maiden, Boston.U2, Blackfoot,Queen,ACDC,David Bowie, Simply Red. Judy Tzuke, Michael Schenker Group, Scorpions, and thats what comes off the top of my head, plus Monsters of Rock plus a couple of Knebworths

Happy Days

Last live show was Jools Holland for the umpteenth time. I am getting fed up with the scamster ticket touts who manage to get piles of tickets and charge outrageous prices for shows/concerts. My wife wants to see Alfie Boe but the ticket prices are horrendous !

I kept all the tickets from the concerts I went to in the late 70's and 80's. Unfortunately some of the bands I can't remember.:o

Best concert Monsters of Rock, the first one, and best band live Rainbow same concert

Best show, Styx, Paradise Theatre, somewhere in London.

Last live band I saw was Foreigner, supported by the Doobie Brothers In Southampton

Seen Elvis Costello countless times over 4 decades, awesome performer. Others include Tears for Fears, Big Country, Springsteen,U2, Spandau Ballet,Simply Red,Rolling Stones, Dire Straits at Munich Olympic stadium.Years ago saw Motorhead 3 times at West Runton along with Marshall Hain ,Suzi Quatro, she gave me a quick kiss, after permission from her hubby Len Tuckey, who played guitar in her band.Seen plenty more but still hoping to see Graham Parker and the Rumour, who tour the states regularly.
Go and watch a lot of local bands too.My mate is lead singer/guitarist with Hammered, who do a lot of 70's/80' songs. He's currently writing his own material too.

I go to quite a good number of gigs a year, rarely Arena ones, mostly small venues to see localish bands or Academy type venues to see more well known ones, last gig was Mark Morriss former Bluetones front man at a small club a couple of weeks ago. Noticed a Counting Crows tour later this year which I quite fancy.

Must say that I prefer smaller venues to 'Stadium' gigs, Glasgow academy is superb.
Having said that, RHCP at Don Valley in 06 was a great night - first gig I took my son to; and Radiohead at Glasgow Green in 08 was probably my favourite ever gig.

i am actually making up now for all the gigs I didnt go to when I was younger. Although I did manage a few including Simon and Garfunkel at the Albert Hall back in 1970.
I starting going again in the 90s A couple of bands Barenaked Ladies and The Bluetones I have seen lots of times also a lot of indie bands big and small, also seen a few of my old favourites from the 60s, probably my best gig was seeing Arthur Lee and Love in the early 2000s 60 years old but still had a great voice.

I still go to a few larger gigs each year. Saw the Black Keys twice last year as well as The Stone Roses. I much prefer the local music scene though. Plenty of Folk Gigs on around Wigan and some decent local Guitar/Singer songwriters.

Talking of ageing performers, I saw the Stranglers at Glasgow Academy in about 2007, Jet Black was drumming that night aged about 70. He frequently couldn't manage a full tour and his drum tech would often fill in but he was drumming that night.

Been to too many gigs to list over the years. Still go. Regular visitor when Fish plays as I've known him for years and so usually end up back stage having a drink (use to get messy) and a chat. Still a big fan of Marillion and go to their gigs. To be honest there are a load of talented local musicians playing local pubs. Drink and live music. What's not to like.

Off to see Madness in July and really looking forward to that. If there is a gig I see and I fancy it I go. Sometimes if it's a band I've not seen or really heard of they are so so or even rubbish but sometimes they are a hidden gem. Found a band called Mostly Autumn (a prog rock type act) and really like their stuff

I go to quite a few gigs, fairly lucky as I have the Cambridge corn exchange fairly close, they have started getting some big acts. Newmarket nights in July, racing and gigs, Birmingham nec is only an hour and a half away and London hour by train.

If I see a band playing I like I will normally get tickets, something special about live music. I think Eric Clapton at the NEC was one of the best, he wasn't as good at Hyde park. I will see a band more than once, I'm not embarrassed to say I've seen McFly round 10 times, and again this year.. Even won tickets to meet them which was cool. Very good live band, I think a lot of people would be surprised if they watched them live.

Went to V fest last year and enjoyed it, first festival so will go again.

Artists I've seen include: the offspring, Avril lavigne, blink182, REM, less than jake, the killers, Bon jovi, snow patrol, feeder

Over the years I've seen iron Maiden, madness, the Specials, the Eagles, From the jam, Weller, Adam ant, Big country, Simple minds, The Who, Springsteen, Alanis Morisette, Blondie, the Police, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Temptations and more.

I've also seen the drifters loads of times, on various Mediterranean islands. I think at the last count there have been 867 "drifters".

I wished I'd seen, or would still love to see the Beach boys, Simon and Garfunkel, U2, Queen, Supertramp, rolling stones.
