Hello one and all,

Just wondering how many of us go and watch the pros play?

I've got my free tickets to the European Open in July, and plans to go to the British open, and planning on the seeing the european tour at the belfry.

After going to the Open 2 years ago I am looking forward to these events? Watching Tiger play is something else, he makes it look so easy....even with the world watching him!

Anyone else going?

I remember following seve and sandy lyle in a practice round at Lytham many years ago. I left totally awestruck at what seve could do with a ball. :p
Not been since my return to this great game but would like to attend at least one event this year.

Used to enjoy going to the Irish Open in my teens especially when played at Portmarnock and Royal Dublin.

Remember seeing Brian Barnes, Seve and John O'Leary win their titles.

Also got to see a a young upcoming Greg Norman hit the ball high and a long way--

I like to get to one or two events a year if I can, but if you want to get really close to the action go and see a top amateur event. You just walk down the fairways with the players it's fantastic. A few years ago when I lived in Plymouth I watched the final of the English amateur at St Mellion, a great day following two young stars of the future round the course. The players were Simon Dyson and Paul Casey. Casey won something like 2&1 in a 36 hole final.

I go now and again....and often to lower key events....ladies/seniors etc......I don't do crowds.

Mostly I don't do the open.....crazy amounts of folk.....I did it scoreboarding a few times and never really got that close to the best players on the course. Frustrating.

They are all good to watch live though....

Going to the PGA this year after 5 years away, cant wait.

Alwys go to one day of the World Match Play as well.

Was completely turned on to the game after the 96 Open at Lytham. Had been using 9 holes at the local p&p as a prep to boozing on a Saturday for a year or so. Was at Lytham with my company who sponsored Corey Pavin (what a top bloke!!!) and go to see how good the top pro's are.

Changed my life.

Oldwindy if you can make the time do... you wont regret it.

For all of us who hates having one or two people around on the tee....wait until you see half the visitors to the course, following you around like Mr Woods! Not sure how he does it.... a part from keep looking at his bank account on the way home :)

Went to the BElfry last year for the Brit Masters and its brilliant. I've been to events at Forest of Arden, Oxfordshire, Chart Hills and Grove. If you get the chance don't just follow the top players. The lesser guys who never win but always make the cut have to plot their way round and you can learn loads about course management
