I've just found out that I won player of the year in a society I play in. It's the best 3 scores over the year that runs from July to June. It seems my average of 35.667 pts was enough to secure the title for the 2nd time (the last time was back in 2001) and considering I've played off 8 or 9 for the whole year it's not a bad achievement and should bring in another couple of bottles of red to keep the wine rack topped up.

Not the most impressive golfing honour ever but they all count :D

It's not a bad title to win. We have an order of merit based on all medals, stablefords and honour board events to give an overall player of the year. Admittedly it is skewed towards those that can get away and play in the midweek events to top up their points but its always interesting to see who is doing well. I always try and get a top 20 finish (not going to happen this year) and I broke into the top 10 last year for the first time.

Well done mate you must have got rid of that nasty hook.

:D Luckily most of the rounds were before I developed the hook and the last one was just as I was starting to overcome it so I managed to get it round in 33 points off 8.

I'm pretty sure the hook is mostly in the past. I did apply for a name change last week but it doesn't seem to have happened yet.
