Afternoon All,
I was just wondering if any of you guys have taken or take you IPods or MP3s to the range? I did this yesterday and noticed a massive improvement in my game, no more swing thoughts and for a while I really enjoyed a few hours on the range even caked in mud. If so what music do you listen to? I imagine MWJ listens to "Eye of the tiger" or something like that ;)

I do occasionally do this, it is great for the rhythm and timing of your swing and quite a few pros do it as well- one immediate example is VJ, he mixes between music and some sort of golf swing metronome. I usually do it when I am swinging well perhaps after a lesson and I want to groove the swing that I am making at that moment in time. I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

With my swing speed it can only be thrash really.

I do take my pod, but only to drown out any other noise and distractions. I listen to anything, as I don't really hear it, it is just a consistent back ground noise. It also stops idiots from trying to talk to me about 'curing' my hook, when I am practicing drawing the ball.

I wish I had started doing this a long time ago, I can not remember the last time I went to the range and wasnt bored within half an hour, yesterday I was there 4 hours!! I really enjoyed it and am considering mainly using the range this winter with a round once a month, though the range is grass with two mat bays I prefered the bays as my work station within a few shots with like a swamp on the grass.

You want to move the right foot...

I was talking with my coach on Friday afternoon and he mentioned some form of swing metronome. Apparently you play them through headphones and you select one best suited to your swing and it is supposed to beep (I think) as you reach the top, again when you are supoosed to impact and another when you get to the follow through. He wants me to try it over the winter swing rebuild as he thinks I have a few timing issues to sort out (if only he had seen me yesterday - I was majestic even if I do say so myself!!!)

I find that when listening to music on the range, I don't really notice exterior nosies when not using them on course, which is a big help. :)
