Seen a fair few players at the range recently plugging themselves in whilst hitting balls. Unless its one of these tempo things, I can't see the point?

It gives the impression that they are really good and happy with their game, when clearly with some that ain't true :p :D

Some of them will be listening to certain songs to get them in the zone, Patrick Reed said he listens to one song on repeat, but I cannot remember the song.

Why would it give the impression that they are happy with their game? I would see it as help with blocking everything out or even just keeping and staying relaxed.

I personally dont listen to music on the range, probably because I dont spend too much time on the range, but I know certain types of music helps with relaxation and rhythm.

I put my earphones in when I practice, sometimes when I play a few holes of an evening as well (only when on my own - and if someone else joins me I take them out).

I don't do it because I want to look good, or because of tempo or anything golf related, instead I only do it because I really like listening to music!

Me too. Ipod on mega-shuffle, clubs over the shoulder, sun low in the evening sky and the course to myself. Bliss.

I've found myself singing to myself during my swing. If I hit a good shot while doing it that song becomes the theme to every shot for the round!

Crazy I know!

On the odd occasion I go on the range I have my music on. Also listen to it on the practice ground. Love being out in the fresh air with my favourite songs on. Nothing to do with rhythm or temp, just like listening to music

Not for me, The tempo of thrash metal would play havoc with my timing

I did read that as a youngster, Luke Donald would play practice rounds with a sony walkman playing sounds of crowds cheering, so he could get used to playing in front of a gallery.

I played 5 holes a couple of weeks ago with headphones in, and enjoyed it. Completely allows you to zone out or sing along so it takes your mind off the golf. I'll probably do the same this weekend when practicing. I also find it makes me think time is going a little quicker

Also really good for hearing shouts of fore from another hole! I would not listen to music while playing on the course personally for that reason, range no problem.

If players can get through some of the trees and hit it far enough sideways at my place, for that to cause an issue...I am seriously impressed. You have to be a good 100/150 yards offline to pose a threat on majority of holes that run side by side at my place...so it doesn't really come in to it
