Welcome along. A doozy of a first question that's going to open a whole can of worms!! Personally while I enjoy the challenge links golf provides, I am a member of a parkland course (no sea in Berkshire). Given a choice at all I'd play a heathland course

Parkland for me, although we have a forum meet at Royal St Georges next week and links really doesn't get much better. I prefer heathland to both though!

Welcome to the forum !

Nice opening post, this one should kick off pretty quickly  :D

Try dress code for your next thread

Both are great types of golf courses that can offer two different types of golf

It's a debate where I don't think there will ever be a right answer and it will always be down to your own personal taste - I know some that hate links but love parkland and vice versa

But then there is the wonder that is Heathland courses

Welcome. My home course is a parkland but prefer links. If I had the choice, links would be my preference. Also place heathland over parkland.

I reckon that would be mine choice as well

I'll throw this out there, anyone who prefers parkland to links needs to play more links.

I'm away for my snack now ;)

Possibly but for many, the options are limited. As I said I enjoy the challenge when I do get an opportunity but my real love is heathland. I'm sure if I was living near a links course and played it in all conditions I'd love it but I don't and so I can't rate it higher than heathland or parkland which I'm use to

I started out on links and have played quite a few, was a member of one course for 5 yrs or so. Parkland all the way for me now. I prefer the aesthetics of a parkland course, the walk is prettier, and I got fed up of fighting the wind and bad bounces. It would have to be a special course to get me back on a links again.

The more that love links the better though.it keeps all of those lovely parkland courses emptier for me😁

The Best of Parkland V The Best of Links = No Contest, Links without a doubt.

Average Parkland Course V Average Links Course =Slightly Tougher Call.
