Links Golf Cup

I'm looking at the East Lothian one for next year and the price seems OK to me for the courses on offer, but each to their own.

I was just wondering if anyone who had actually played in it had any thoughts on the courses, the competition, organisation etc.

thought about it a couple of times, but as you say appears a bit steep, maybe aimed at visitors??/

As you say, maybe aimed at getting people to travel and stay over. I probably know enough members from these courses to get invites. So that's maybe why I thought it expensive as well.

Gerry as said previously 2blue did do it 2 years ago and really enjoyed it, I had concerns over cost and the fact it's in March!! 2blue did get lucky with weather his year however the year before lost 1 day due to torrential rain. No doubt he will reply to this when he sees it.

Did you consider the Trump/Carnoustie trip?

People look quickly at the cost and think it's rich, all 4 courses would cost normally over £300 for green fees through the week even in March.

I think the cost is decent value for what you are getting, 4 quality courses under competition conditions, an evening drinks reception and a presentation dinner plus prizes.

I'd enter in a heartbeat if my holidays weren't at such a premium next year, likewise with the ayrshire version.

That was my thinking too, and as I'm not taking much in the way of holidays next year, I've signed up for the East Lothian version. Looking forward to ticking off another 2 of my bucket list coures.

I have these, and other links based comps, on my radar. Would love to enter one. All depends on contract timings.

Value in the eye of the beholder as always.
