Links Golf at its best!

Never had the pleasure of any of the Gullane trio, really need to get the finger out and get them played.

Best of luck Sunday

Gullane is a superb club, three excellent courses, always in fantastic condition. My favourite is No.2.

if you are visiting playing 2 & 3 on the same day is a superb deal. Far better value than No.1 or North Berwick West.

Apologies for going off topic!

Played No 2. Quite enjoyed it, nice course, but I never managed to get as excited about it as the rest of the group (who raved about it). I'd pay to play it again mind you, so that's a good sign I suppose.

Cracking steak pie afterwards though........always in my thoughts when I rate a course is the quality of the steak pie.

Played Gullane #1 a couple of years ago in torrential, non stop rain. Very hard to form a balanced opinion as a result because we just wanted to get round and get back indoors. It looked really good on the tellybox during the Scottish open, would like to go back and play it again.

I agree ,having played Gullane 2 and 3.
We also played The Glen,a real gem in my opinion.
Not been up that way for a long while.

I would really strongly disagree with you. North Berwick is at least three steps above anything Gullane has to offer.

Playing at http://www.prestonfieldgolf.co.uk for the first time on Monday evening. Views look cracking in the photos.

Always fancied a trip to Prestwick, but not made the effort so far.

Had one of my best ever golfing experiences here a few years ago.
I was on a business trip and found myself with a few hours to kill before my flight out of Edinburgh later that evening.
Didn't have my clubs just some golf shoes, so rang up to see if I could hire a set and get a game.....no problem was the reply, so headed up there intending to have a quiet round.

When I arrived, the Captain was in the Pro Shop with 2 friends about to go out and we got chatting.....he invited me to join them, wouldn't let me pay a green fee and the pro didnt charge me for the clubs.
Bought a sleeve of balls and a bag of tees and off we went......
Absolutely fantastic company and needless to say I picked up the bar and grub tab later. One of the playing partners even dropped me off at the airport.
Amazing hospitality shown to a complete stranger.

Course has some stunning views and Arthur's Seat is pretty spectacular.
Have a good round and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
