Not when you're standing over the ball, but when you're first assessing the line of your putt, do you use both eyes, or close one when you're lining up your putts?

Why would you only use one eye? You would get no perception of depth.

same reason an archer closes one eye i guess, makes it easier to pick a target on a set line.

reason i'm asking is because i don't.

Close one eye? That will make things even harder.

I have a good look from behind and sometimes even the sides if I am struggling for a read.

Once I have got a good idead of how it needs lining up I set it and stand over it making any further adjustments to the line if need be, always with both eyes open.

I don't but I know everyone has a dominant eye. I've heard that it makes a difference if your dominant eye is the one furthest from the hole but I think I was told that by someone who doesn't putt very well so not sure how true it is.

I don't see how it would help using only one eye when standing behind the ball. I would think it makes seeing the borrow pretty difficult.

I only use one eye to line putts up, had an operation on my left eye when i was a bairn, and it doesnt focus very well these days. i find it works for me.
